Teaching
"The purpose of training is to tighten up the slack, toughen the body, and polish the spirit."
Morihei Ueshiba 1883-1969
My teaching focuses on cultivating resilience and discipline through the practice of Aikido, emphasizing the strength that comes from facing challenges with perseverance and focus. I currently teach and train Aikido, Zen, and Ikebana at Tendokan Dojo.
Tendokan Dojo was created by my husband and is how we make a difference in the world as a family–for a better world and a better future. It’s more than a place to train – it’s a way of life and a way for the community to thrive.
I started training Aikido in 2010 as a well-being strategy to stay balanced in my global corporate roles. Since then it has evolved into a mission inspired by my experience as a mother.
I created the Aikido Superpowers Programme which combines my education and experience in Psychology, Aikido, and motherhood to nourish the healthy development of children. My programme has grown to include training for kids from 3 to 13 years old, creating a thriving community with shared values, goals, and dreams. I aim to inspire children to be part of the solution and live a purpose-driven life: to grow healthy, strong, and happy so that they can express themselves with clarity, respect, confidence, and stand up for themselves and for others when on a meaningful mission.
